About Us

DIZON.LAW is a boutique corporate law firm advising startups and their founders on the legal matters that arise across a company's lifecycle, from formation and early financings through commercial growth and eventual exit.

The firm was built on the principle that startup clients are best served by counsel that combines transactional rigor with genuine operational understanding of early-stage companies. Founders operate under real constraints of capital, time, and information that shape which legal questions matter and which do not. Effective counsel recognizes those constraints and advises accordingly.

Leadership

The firm is led by Karlo Dizon. He holds a Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School, a Master of Science in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Yale University. He is admitted to practice in New York, Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Guam. Mr. Dizon previously worked at WilmerHale, where he practiced appellate, commercial, constitutional, and energy regulatory litigation across federal and state forums.

His practice is informed by direct experience as a founder and operator. He has founded and led two companies: AsylumLegal, a public legal-resource platform serving pro se applicants, practitioners, and academics in U.S. asylum law; and Aedric, an AI-forward research practice developing analytic frameworks for sovereign-capital and geopolitical strategy. That experience provides firsthand familiarity with the decisions founders face, from entity structure and early financing to product development and strategic positioning, and shapes how the firm delivers counsel.

In parallel with his legal and founder work, Mr. Dizon leads editorial strategy for global investment conferences and institutional convenings, including the Future Investment Initiative, Bloomberg NEF, Mastercard AIGS, and CNN International. That work places him in sustained contact with sovereign wealth leadership, senior principals across global finance, and the institutional capital landscape, and informs his counsel to founders navigating international investors, cross-border transactions, and the increasingly global character of startup financing.

Firm commitments

The firm operates on a clear set of commitments. Preventive counsel over reactive counsel. Clarity in drafting and communication. Responsiveness as a baseline rather than a premium. Predictable pricing through flat fees wherever scope allows, with transparent hourly billing where it does not.
